How should Earthdoom advertise? Should we focus on Facebook or other channels of marketing? Or should we use paid advertising or some other kind of advertising?

Game Creator. Admin. And everything else, since year 2000.

Adsense is a good start. Selling ad space would work as well. Always people looking to buy ad space on various forums or websites.

You should also look into having people pass out flyers and doing Twitter and Facebook ads.

You can find a some free ad coupons for Google Adwords/Facebook by searching on Google. These are just some that I know of, I'm sure there are more. I would honestly check out Fiverr.com, there are people on there that will write articles about your site, generate backlinks, or promote your website on Social Media websites. I've never used it for backlinks, however I have used it for graphic design, and I have to say that for $5 it was well worth it.
